William LeGoullon

Archival Inkjet on Canvas

2010

Raised in the Phoenix area, LeGoullon has developed a personal obsession with and appreciation for his desert surroundings, both obscure and apparent. Consistently motivated by these environments, he continues to explore theories and realities of time and evolution as well as the interaction and separation between man and place. His interests in narratives, history, and change continue to influence his work.

While the majority of his creation focuses on ephemeral yet visceral places, he also creates work relating to iconic symbolism within the southwest as well as Phoenix based motifs. As an Eye Lounge Artist Collective Alumni and current member of Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art’s Artist Advisory Council, LeGoullon credits his devotion to and engagement with the Phoenix arts community as his driving inspiration. In 2009, he received his BFA from the Herberger Institute of Design and the Arts at Arizona State University with a focus in Photography and plans to continue living and working in the Phoenix area.
