Monica Aissa Martinez earned her Master of Fine Arts degree from New Mexico State University and her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Texas at El Paso.

Her paintings, drawings and prints have been exhibited nationally and are a part of numerous private and public collections including the Phoenix Municipal Court House, Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art, Arizona State University, New Mexico State University and Brigham Young University. More recently her work was published in three books through the Hispanic Research Center and the Biligual Press/Editorial Bilingue of Arizona State University.
