Sex and Sovereignty is a limited edition, self-published, softcover photo book that accompanies an exhibition that takes place at Eye Lounge from November 17 to December 10, 2023.
Developed over the course of six years in six states and Washington D.C., the work in this book celebrates individual power in asserting bodily autonomy despite increased barriers, politicization, and systemic neglect. The Sex and Sovereignty book includes portraits of people who have confronted challenges accessing reproductive and sexual healthcare head-on, along with transcriptions of their personal stories. Photography, introduction, and editing by Amanda Mollindo.
