Call For Artists! 

Eye Lounge is opening its doors for an open call opportunity! Apply to exhibit in the historic Modified Arts in the downtown Phoenix Roosevelt Row arts district. The exhibition is open to artists of all media, 18 or older currently residing in the United States.


About Eye Lounge

The collective was founded in 2000 and first hosted group exhibitions at various locations in and around Phoenix and moved to its current location in December, 2001. The collective is a founding member of Roosevelt Row, programming both Eye Lounge Gallery and Modified Arts Gallery.

Eye Lounge has been featured in local and national press including LensScratch, Sunset Magazine, Art In America, ArtNews, Phoenix New Times, Shade Magazine, Java and others. Eye Lounge has been listed as the “Best First Friday Spot” by Phoenix New Times’ “Best of Phoenix” 2024 awards.


Eligibility

This call is open to all artists currently residing in the United States, both amateur and professional. Student applications are encouraged!


Rules

All media, including but not limited to painting, watermedia, pastel, wood, printmaking, bookmaking, photography, ceramics, drawing, fiber, video, documented performance art, digital art and sculpture are eligible. Artists selected to exhibit must supply all display equipment, including any relevant installation hardware, screens, stands, etc.
Work should be no larger than 30” on the longest side.

Selection Process

Submissions will be reviewed by current Eye Lounge members of varying artistic backgrounds and experiences. You can learn more about the members here.



HOW TO APPLY

Submit the following materials to via the google form:

  • (3) Images of work, named LastNameFirstName_Title.jpg

  • CV/Resume (pdf or doc)

  • Artist Statement, 150 words or less

  • Image list, including

    • Title

    • Year Created

    • Medium

    • Size

    • Price

  • Receipt of your application fee

APPLICATION FEE

A fee of $20 includes submission for 3 works. You can submit two more works by adding $5 each for up to two additional works.

Please pay your fees by clicking the button below and proceeding to checkout. Take a screenshot of the receipt and upload the image file when you fill out the submission form.

All submission fees will be used for the operating expenses of our artist-run collective.

SALES

Work that is available for sale is preferable, though not required. Sales handled through Eye Lounge will be split between the artist and the gallery with 85% going to the artist and 15% to the gallery.


NOTIFICATION

Notification will be done via email by May 26th. If for any reason you do not hear from us by the notification date, please check the filters in your email account. Notification emails are sent to the email from which the submission was received.

Delivery of work by mail - Due June 12th

Delivery of work in person - June 15th

Duration of Show - 6/19/2025-7/12/2025
